Remember the days where we’d sit down to eat without taking a picture of our food first? Yeah, neither do we. But just as our meals—specifically brunch—have gotten more insta-worthy, so have the brunch outfits we wear to eat them in. And given that 29% of people we surveyed admit they have felt underdressed while going out for this Sunday favorite, we thought it’d be fun to share a few outfit ideas to help you figure out what to wear to brunch.* Keep scrolling to take a look.

Take it easy

Still feeling exhausted from the night before? Luckily most brunch spots don’t require you to dress up, so go for your favorite jeans and sweater combo. We fancy a pair of straight-leg denim and a slightly oversized knit with either bold graphic or textured elements. As for footwear, it all just depends on how you’re feeling. A comfortable pair of flats or low block-heel booties are both equally chic options. And now for the really hard part: what to order once you’re at the restaurant. Treat yourself with sweet and savory options—you deserve it for making it out.

Dress it up

Bottomless mimosas and waffles are key components to our favorite weekend spread, just like this next fall brunch outfit. For a trendy look, we’re adding a little edge to our favorite feminine pieces. Start by pairing an eye-catching midi skirt with a slim-fit T-shirt and give it a front-knot to create some shape. Then add a touch of glamour with a silk scarf tied around your neck or handbag and stack on a variety of mixed metal accessories. Bring it all together with a faux leather moto jacket and crisp low-top sneakers for an outfit that shows you take your brunch seriously.

Make it quick

If you only have enough time for a quick latte and croissant, this outfit will get you in and out of your go-to cafe in style. A bright tee tucked into a pair of flattering high-waist jeans is fool-proof and always dependable. For chillier mornings, add a pop of color and much needed coziness with a contrasting long cardigan—wear it open or belted at the waist depending on your mood. Consider adding a pair of earrings, sleek waterproof boots, and a simple crossbody bag to nail the casual-cool aesthetic.
