Your wardrobe should be an investment, so the more use we get out of our clothing and accessories, the better. That’s why we’re showing you three staple pieces you can wear all summer long through to the fall (and some of them even longer!).
Fall Trend #1: Statement blazer
Why we love it: It’s the closest thing to having your arrival announced when you enter a room. In the best way possible, of course.
For summer: Light and bright is the way to go. White jeans and a striking solid-colored top let your statement blazer shine without taking away any of the attention. If your outfit is bold, err on the side of neutrals with accessories.
Into fall: This piece is no less statement-making when combined with darker fall colors. In fact, we think it stands out even more against black work pants and flats. A burgundy bucket bag is less a pop of color and more a sultry whisper of a shade.
Fall Trend #2: Dark denim
Why we love it: Dark denim should win an award for best supporting garment because it looks great with pretty much anything.
For summer: Bare some skin and toss on a vivid off-the-shoulder top with a matching handbag. We’ve already entered late summer, let’s take advantage of warm weather styles while we have time left.
Into fall: We’re still letting the blouse be the star of the show, only now we’ve switched over to long sleeves and closed-toe shoes. Fall hats are cute, too—just think about how well it’ll Instagram.
Fall Trend #3: White booties
Why we love it: As long as you know how to keep them looking clean, you can wear these babies all year long.
For summer: Florals, always. The white booties bring out the white in the print so they’re complimenting, not competing. A woven sun hat and belt bag tie together a look fit for the last farmers markets of the season.
Into fall: Still loving a dress with a partially white pattern, but for fall, we’re choosing sturdier fabrics to accommodate the change in weather. Where you wore linen before, now is when you’d wear thicker cotton. When in doubt, add a lightweight layer.
