It’s never too early to start talking about football.

Not every guy is a paint-your-face-and-chest kind of fan. We get that. But with some big time college football matchups heading our way, you’ll need options to figure out what to wear instead. So if you choose to wear clothes, we put together a couple of game day outfits to help you show your team pride depending on who you’re rooting for.

The matchup:

LSU Tigers vs. Texas Longhorns

Your base pieces: No matter which team you support, jeans are an excellent starting point—along with fresh white sneakers and sunglasses.

Team colors: If you’re looking for an LSU game day outfit, wear purple or gold. Longhorns fans look the part in burnt orange. In case that color is hard to find, most shades of rusty orange will do.

Tiger traditions: LSU is known for their top-notch tailgates—get your buddies together and throw your own before the game.

Texas talk: It’s not a game day without calling out the Longhorn slogan: “Hook ‘em Horns!”

The matchup:

Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Georgia Bulldogs

Your base pieces: We’re building both of these outfits around a white tee, which makes it easy to layer on your team’s colors. The neutral nylon jacket also works for both looks, and is good to have on hand for a night game.

Notre Dame colors: Navy and white are essential to a Notre Dame game day outfit. Then, try a gold accent on your shoes or hat.

ND tip: If you want to stand out in the crowd—but stay on theme—Irish Green is also an official team color.

Go Dawgs: Chances are you already have black clothing, so if Georgia is your team, you’re halfway there. Consider investing in a pair of red sneakers or sunglasses.

One thing we can all agree on is that football season means fall is on its way. Talk to a stylist about how to get your closet ready for the summer-to-fall transition.
