Spring’s in full swing. If the weather didn’t give it away, you’d know by the bright, lighter-weight outfits cropping up these days. Just like the weather, the looks are a little different depending on where you are. So we’re taking you on a quick (virtual) trip to four of our favorite cities to see how the season’s trends are playing out. Let’s go!

New York City

Spring in NYC means chilly mornings and even colder evenings, with mild daytime temps that demand short sleeves. The City That Never Sleeps also likes to dress up, and even casual outfits tend to look a little more put together. Coordinated layers like this nail the balance—each piece is pretty easygoing, but quality fabrics and clean construction ensure you’ll never look sloppy. Finish with comfortable sandals and you can save yourself some cab fare.

Chicago

Chicago takes style cues from both coasts then adds its own distinctive take. The result is an eclectic mix of trend and practical pieces—and this time of year, it’s all about the layers. Winter is well behind us, but don’t put away the overshirts and beanies just yet. Light-wash jeans and graphic tees are the trends to try right now, and they’ll help you make an easy transition from cooler to warmer weather.

Seattle

When the grey starts giving way to sunny skies, the Emerald City’s top trend is a great big smile … but you’d better grab that jacket, just in case. Seattle keeps things pretty casual when it comes to fashion, focusing on comfort and get-outside-ability over one signature style. Spring temperatures can be cool, so fleece layers and long pants are still in play. Neutrals popped with a bit of bold color strike the right note for this laid-back city.

Los Angeles

Considering its connection to Disneyland and Hollywood, it’s no surprise that LA welcomes characters of all kinds. This translates to an “anything goes” attitude when it comes to fashion. And while you might run into spring showers, odds are good the weather will be just about perfect. So you can lean into the casual styles spring is famous for, like these easy pieces. To capture this sunny city’s vibe, be sure to keep the colors bright.
