How to Wear Fall’s Best Sweaters
Temperatures are finally starting to cool down, which means it’s officially time to start making room in our closets for plush knits and soft layers. And not just for weekends, but for work days, too. We asked one of our stylists, Amanda, to share some tips and tricks on how to give our workwear wardrobes an appropriate refresh for fall. Keep reading for her top three suggestions to seamlessly transition your looks for the new season.
When your workwear comprises classic pieces and you’re looking to infuse a little something extra, there’s a really easy place to start. “Introduce pops of color so that you can add a touch of personality to your business-professional looks,” Amanda says. She usually opts for a brightly colored shoe or statement handbag because they’re easy and versatile add-ons that can take any look to the next level.
When you have plans after work, an outfit that is professional enough for the office yet trendy enough to grab drinks is in order. “Versatile outfits that incorporate all aspects of your lifestyle are important,” says Amanda. She recommends wearing slim ankle pants and pairing it with a silk camisole. Add an oversized blazer for a look that is appropriate for day, and then leave it on your desk chair before heading to happy hour.
A must-have piece in any workwear wardrobe? “A great black blazer is worth investing in, as it’s perfect for transitioning into fall and winter,” Amanda says. “It’s a go-to layering piece that can be worn with anything from denim to trousers to dresses.” Take into consideration factors such as construction, structure, and fit in order to bring a touch of polish to any look.
